Phase 2

I started off the year really strong in Phase 1. I was on top of turning my assignments in on time and I wrote a good essay. However, things went downhill during Phase 2. The biggest thing that I struggled with during Phase 2 was turning in on my assignments on time. Unlike Phase 1, I procrastinated way too much. When trying to figure out how to balance my classes, I spent too much time trying to catch up with my calculus class, which led me to put off English for a while. Unfortunately, this decision hurt me a lot more than it benefited me.

Despite my struggles, I still had some strengths during Phase 2. My discussion board posts were still very well-written. I spent a decent amount of time on each post. We were also assigned a second essay, which was the Rhetorical Analysis Essay. I was very slow in getting myself to start my essay. However, things eventually started picking up and I was able to turn in my final draft on time. Just like Phase 1, I put together an essay that earned a high score. My participation was very bad in the first phase. I believe that my participation improved in the second. For most classes, I made sure to raise my hand at least once. During our in-person classes, I typically raised my hand in the beginning of class. I was more engaged during class than I was in the initial phase.

Overall, I would say that Phase 2 was a small step up from Phase 1. My participation improved and my essay-writing skills were still sharp. However, I struggled mightily with turning in assignments on time. For the next phase, my main focus will be on being more diligent with deadlines. This will help with not just English, but all my classes in general.
